Chinese Learning Express Module 12 app for iPhone and iPad

Module 12 explores ordering food at a restaurant. Students will learn how to order food and drinks, how to ask for a take-out container or “doggie-bag,” and how to pay the bill. To become familiar with restaurant vocabulary, student will play a jeopardy-style game. In order to practise ordering and describing menu items in restaurants, students will create and act out a short skit that takes place in a restaurant setting. For cultural reference, Module 12 introduces the sequence of dishes and types of foods ordered during a large Chinese dinner. This module includes assignment worksheets that outline grammar points, and listening worksheets for dialogues based on scenes at a restaurant. Other worksheets allow students to practise character recognition through reading and writing, and speaking exercises based on short conversations about ordering food at a restaurant.
